This is at Buljisan Mountain in Napo-myeon, Gunsan, and unlike other temples around Gunsan, there is Iljumun Gate. At the center of the temple, Daeungjeon Hall is currently designated as Tangible Cultural Property No. 117 of Jeollabuk-do Province and is composed of a three-block front gambrel roof and a two-block side gambrel roof of Jusimpo-gye.
Built in the Joseon Dynasty, recently, traditional multicolored paintwork was put on for more beauty. Although Buljusa Temple was built during King Euija’s reign from Baekje Dynasty, there is no clear record. Due to a few renovations, the year of construction is not clear, but as Maksae roof tile with an inscription was found in the 1911 maintenance of Daeungjeon Hall, it was confirmed that it was built before 1630.
